Dog Shadow

Walking my dog.
His shadow on concrete turns ominous:
a rabid callous cerberus
drooling spittle in its wake.
Fangs out.
Then growls darkly on hot pavement;
sereing sun shadows spread, extend
like claws reaching to tear
invisible meats.
Belly full with innards teeth, gnawing, snarling
as only the insiduous hound could howl.
Little yellow dog
looks up with innocent large brown eyes.
Such love.
