DESERT SPRING

Succulent blossoms.
Sentinals
In orange and yellows:
Sirens to bees.
The juicy prickly pear tunas
Taste like fig, but sweeter.
At sunrise, cactus wren descends
from the hole in the sahuaro
to drink deep and gather droplets for birdlings.
